Top 10 / 2021

10. A self-portrait made on my 34th birthday.

Hope everyone’s year ended on a positive note… As for me, well I’m not going to dwell on the past year as it’s challenges seemed insurmountable most days, but alas here we are—we made it through.

Looking back at it now, I’m feeling fortunate that I got to create a lot of work that I’m immensely proud of. I’m thankful for the support I’ve received from friends near and far, for everyone who bought a print of my work, shared an image or even just left a positive comment.

I consulted everyone’s favourite photo sharing app to see what the data showed & while I know that Instagram is problematic, it is a tool that can beneficially assist in measuring how others are perceiving my work, so it’s silly not to use it, right?!

Of everything I’ve shared though, these are the ones that seemed to resonate with people the most.  And with that, here it is, a look back on the year that was.

My top ten  photographs of 2021 starting with number ten (above) & descending to number one below.

Thus Spoke Veruca

Here it is, the second-to-last wine release of the year from Rigour & Whimsy! Thus Spoke Veruca is a more classic take on Northern Rhône style red wine (85% Syrah / 15% Viognier) as compared to their previous release, Multiverse, which I posted about a month or so ago. With Thus Spoke Veruca, their new wine release, you can expect a much broodier, full bodied red wine that definitely stands up to cooler fall weather (which I’m not at all angry about). Label design by me (or Frank Luca Creative if you’d prefer), with artwork by @famoisdead. 💥🍷

Multiverse

Finally sharing this lovely & weird (only in the best way) & juicy wine! Multiverse is the newest release from my friends Rigour & Whimsy ~ a non-vintage red blend of Syrah / Viognier, combined with an amber blend of Roussanne / Marsanne. The result of this seemingly unconventional wine is a bright, floral, & textured light red that pairs perfectly with nearly any situation!

The Multiverse label was designed by me & it features otherworldly artwork by the incredibly talented Okanagan-based artist Aaron K. Metz. ✨🍇

Small Victories

A couple of months ago I shared a pre-order for an upcoming book that features an image I made. I am very happy to say that it turned out beautifully & I am grateful to have been included in this publication alongside some really talented fellow photographers. A huge thank you to @booooooom for putting this together & for being such an invaluable resource to the creative community.

The book sold out quickly, but if you’re interested in seeing which other photographers were included, you can see the full list of contributors through this link to their shop: Small Victories Book
