frank luca

Hey, I'm Frank (he/him) & I am a Photographer & Graphic Designer living in Kamloops, British Columbia.

I graduated from the Digital Art & Design program at Thompson Rivers University & have since developed long–term working relationships with a variety of local companies. In 2021, after acquiring several years of freelance experience, I officially launched Frank Luca Creative. Currently, I am also the in-house graphic designer at Kamloops Art Gallery.

On the off chance I'm not out wandering with my camera, you'll find me listening to records, working in my studio, sifting through any & all sorts of printed matter gathering inspiration, perusing bookstores, or enjoying a quality beverage (these days, one that's usually made by an Okanagan winery).

For my work, I draw inspiration from ordinary & unassuming places, emotional connection & ambient light. My photographs often evoke a sense of nostalgia, akin to a fever dream or a youthful memory where the details are obscured but there is still certainty that it resonates with you for a reason.

My design practices are generally a combination of postmodern influence & minimalism. I care deeply about crafting work that will create a lasting narrative. Great design is important, in that, it creates a connection between the work & the viewer. With each of my projects, I set out to effectively communicate ideas in a compelling way.

I am currently looking to expand my photography portfolio to include creative portraiture, branding & commercial work so I am looking for new opportunities to work with like-minded people.

If that sounds like something you might be interested in, don't hesitate to say hello!

"Frank did an extraordinary job of understanding the style we were looking for.

We had a simple wedding and wanted to spend a very short amount of time taking staged photos.

The number of beautiful images that came out of that session and from the candid images he took throughout the day truly blows me away.

He is friendly, down to earth, professional, and easy to work with.

We could not be happier with the final photos and with our experience.

Thank you, Frank, for capturing our day so perfectly."
